Eric and I met by chance, I was attending Case Western Reserve University and needed a summer job and Eric had moved up to Cleveland about 6 months prior. I had a friend that was working at the Melting Pot and said she could get me a job. After a few weeks of working there, a group of people decided to go out to downtown Cleveland. We had a make a pit-stop and pick up someone - this someone was Eric! He was the guy in the backseat with me, even though I didn't really talk to him until the end of the evening when the bar was closing.
Eric thought, 'hmmm maybe I should ask this girl out to the baseball game since my friend Mike is coming into town.' I agreed to go to the baseball game and ever since then we have been together.
In 2008, Eric was offered a job in Rockville, MD which he accepted. He was relocated back to his hometown, I remained in Cleveland. After 18 months of long distance, I decided it was time for me to move to Maryland. With an acceptance letter to nursing school at UMB and luck, we made it!
On February 17, 2010 Eric finally worked up the courage to propose. It was after a long day of my adult health clinical and we were just sitting in the kitchen talking. Of course I was in my sexiest of clothes - my super soft bathrobe. While I was making dinner on the stove, Eric snuck the engagement ring into my robe pocket and say "take a look in your pocket." He then asked me to marry him - which I of course said "yes!" |
